ChatGPT can now build and ship real software without leaving the chat. Hatchable is live in the ChatGPT app directory.
Until this week, connecting ChatGPT to Hatchable meant switching on developer mode and pasting a connector URL. It worked, but it was the clunkiest of our supported paths. That step is gone.
Now it’s: open the Hatchable listing in ChatGPT, click Connect, and approve. That’s the entire setup, and it works in ChatGPT on the web and on mobile. If you don’t have a Hatchable account yet, approving creates a free one on the spot.
Then you just describe what you want:
- “Build a booking page for my studio and put it live.”
- “Make an expense tracker for my team, with sign-in.”
- “Add a waitlist form to my site that emails me every signup.”
ChatGPT writes the code and deploys it, and you get back a live URL with a database, sign-in, email, and hosting already behind it. Everything it builds also shows up in your console, so you can browse the data, invite collaborators, or keep iterating later from any tool that speaks MCP.

Apps in the ChatGPT directory distribute to Codex as plugins too. The Codex guide has the details, including a manual config fallback for the CLI.
Why we’re glad about this one
ChatGPT is where an enormous number of people already think out loud. The distance between describing an app there and having that app live on the internet is now one Connect button. That’s the product working the way we always wanted it to.
