Atlas
The niche directory you own. Curate it, moderate it, earn the SEO.
A complete niche-directory product: pick a niche, curate the listings, and own the result outright. Submissions arrive in a moderation queue, you approve or reject them (one keystroke each), and every approved listing becomes its own server-rendered, indexable page with a real title, meta description, and link preview. Categories, featured listings, a sitemap, and robots.txt are all built in, because the search traffic is the whole point.
Not a starter scaffold, a finished product. The seed opens as Roastfinder, a working demo directory of independent coffee roasters: four categories, twelve live listings with two featured, and two submissions already waiting in the queue, so the first paint shows you both the public site and the job of running it.
The pipeline is done right. The public submission form is protected by a honeypot, server-side URL checks, a per-IP daily cap, and duplicate detection. Submitters get an acknowledgment email on receipt and a congratulations email with their live link on approval; rejections can carry an emailed reason or stay silent. The owner console is a calm dark tool: a keyboard-driven review queue, a listings table with feature toggles, a categories manager, and settings for the name, pitch, accent color, outbound link policy (nofollow or dofollow), and auto-ack.
Zero setup: no API keys, no config, nothing to paste. Fork it, rename it, start curating. Source-available, plain JS, no build step, and AGENTS.md ships eight extension recipes (paid featured slots via Stripe, a listing claim flow, a dead-link checker, tag pages, RSS, a JSON API, a weekly digest, CSV import) so you or your AI tool can grow it into exactly the directory you want. No per-seat fee, no platform owning your niche. Free to fork and self-host on Hatchable.
Talk to it from your AI
Once Atlas is on your account, the same AI you used to install it can read its data, send its emails, and change its code — for the life of the project. Try things like:
Every Hatchable project ships with an MCP server scoped to it — how it works.
Features
Every listing is an indexable page
Server-rendered pages with real titles, meta descriptions, and link previews for the home page, every category, and every approved listing, plus a sitemap.xml and robots.txt. The SEO compounds to you, not to a platform.
A moderation queue you can fly through
Submissions land as pending. Approve with one keystroke, edit then approve, or reject with an optional emailed reason. Keyboard shortcuts (j/k, a, e, r) make a big queue a small job.
Spam-resistant submissions
The public submit form is guarded server-side: a honeypot field, URL normalization and syntax checks, a per-IP daily cap counted in SQL, and duplicate-URL detection against everything pending or live.
Emails at the right moments
Submitters get an acknowledgment on receipt (toggleable) and a congratulations email with their live link on approval. Rejections email your reason only when you write one.
Your link policy, your call
Outbound links carry nofollow by default so listings never borrow your authority. Flip one setting to dofollow when you vouch for your picks. Featured listings get a home page strip and a badge.
Zero setup, source-available
No API keys and nothing to configure: fork it and start curating. Plain JS, no build step, and AGENTS.md ships eight extension recipes, from paid featured slots to a dead-link checker.
